- Watch a live show (play, musical, concert, stand-up comedy, etc.). Lots of student discounts available!
- Get a day pass and ride the subway without destination. Occasionally get off at a random stop and walk around the neighbourhood to explore a bit.
- Play video games
- Play board games. Go to a board game café (i.e. Snakes & Lattes).
- Go to Laserquest
- Have a picnic. Brings blankets and music.
- Stargaze
- Make food: dessert, dinner, lunch, or just a snack
- Go to amusement parks. Or water parks.
- Go to zoos
- Go to museums
- Take a boat cruise
- Take a bus tour
- Enjoy a day by the water (lake, ocean, pond, or whatever’s available). Beaches are especially awesome.
- Take a hobby class together (i.e. improv, ballroom dancing, etc.)
- Do a sport/exercise together (i.e. biking, yoga, etc.)
- Go ice skating
- Go swimming
- Build snowmen. And snow forts. And blanket forts.
- Watch kid movies and sing along
- Have a water-gun fight, with water balloons too.
- Read to each other
- Try eating at unfamiliar restaurants. Experience new food, and look for places with a twist to them, such as O’noir.
- Re-create a first date
- Karaoke
- Bowling
- Mini-golf
- BBQ & hot tub night
- Music night: make a playlist you both agree on in advance, find a comfortable spot to lie down together, and just listen. Dancing is encouraged!
- Paint-balling
- Go to a fair (carnavals, street festivals, exhibitions– there are plenty of those in the city!)
- Fly kites. Or paper airplanes.
- Go to a sporting event
- Play verbal mind games (i.e. truth, 20 questions, etc.)
- Build-a-Bear
- Visit tourist attractions in your city
- Scavenger hunts
- Long walks/hikes
- Movies (in theatres or at home) or TV shows– just make sure to change up the genre so it stays interesting and fits with the mood, or add a twist, like a drinking game, to shake things up
- Shopping (malls, yard sales, thrift shops, etc.)
- Spend lots of time with friends and family
